Some robotic mushrooms operate as spyglasses that let visitors move around in time and space – besides magnifying the view, they show what Tallinn and Harju county looked like at different times.

According to the preliminary data issued by Statistics Estonia, a total of 814,848 people, or 62 percent of the nation’s estimated population, were counted in the e-census. Expectations for participation in the e-census were surpassed by threefold, according to Statistics Estonia, and the result exceeds Canada’s 54.6 percent e-census participation rate, which so far marked the world record.
The total number of completed personal questionnaires, where the person’s household and living space had also been enumerated, was 815,467, which is 62% of the estimated population of Estonia. “If we include the people who had omitted to enumerate some of the household members or had not completed the dwelling questionnaire, the total number of completed personal questionnaires is 880,455, which accounts for 66.7% of the estimated population,” said Diana Beltadze, Project Manager of the 2011 Population and Housing Census.
The final proportion of e-census participants will be revealed after the publication of the census results in May, when the actual population size of Estonia has been determined. The planned census end date for the census is March 31. During the first month (Dec. 31 2011 to Feb. 1 2012), the permanent residents of Estonia could complete the census online. Those who did not participate in the e-census will be visited by an enumerator in the period of February 16 to March 31, 2012.

For the first time in the history of the Estonian population censuses it is possible for everyone to choose whether they prefer the traditional face-to-face interview or online questionnaire.

Estonian Road Administration arranged the helmet campaign to introduce this change in legislation. The campaign included an interactive website that provided an option for everyone to design their own custom helmet. In October, Creatum welcomed a new member – marketing communication strategist Birjo Kiik. Birjo has worked in Swedbank as a marketing manager in different divisions, in Valior as sales and marketing director and for the past three years she has been managing director of advertising agency Idea. Birjo has a bachelor’s degree in business studies from University of Tartu specializing in business solutions and marketing and master’s degree summa cum laude from EBS specializing in business consultancy.
Birjo has consulted many Estonian and international corporations and has helped to create several financial products which were revolutionary in Baltic States at the time – Duokonto, Trump (later became Ego), etc.· In Swedbank, Birjo created a process for segmenting customer groups.
Later, this was used as a base of the bank’s marketing concept and awarded with Team of the Year title.
In addition to providing strategic and tactical consultancy, Birjo views her mission in Estonia’s advertising market mainly in three areas: 1) setting a more precise target before shooting will give a remarkable financial benefit already in one year – plan or die! 2) Estonia’s economy needs creators reading Äripäev more than mystics.
3) Estonian agency can build competence to provide necessary input for companies who want to operate abroad. Extending operations abroad does not necessarily mean using an expensive foreign agency for all activities – large amount of work can be done here, in Estonia.
Birjo Kiik’s positive decision brings great experience and strategic aptness to an agency which is likely to be Estonia’s most insightful and thorough in terms of analyzing needs of its customers.
We give our warm welcome to Birjo!

Collective proposal of Creatum and AD Idea received highest scores in segments of creative concept and plan of action (which made up 60% of the total score) from bicameral panel. However, procurement was won by AS Age that gained the highest score by offering the lowest price.
Creatum could not accept this course of action and filed a complaint to Complaint Commission at Public Procurement Office. The result was challenge by Der Tank as well. Creatum’s complaint was accepted.
Creatum presented two concepts for one of the most important public procurements in 2010 – finding an advertising partner for project “Tallinn – European Capital of Culture 2011”. These concepts were awarded with second and third place while first prize was given to OÜ Midfield – a one-man company that has previously arranged ad campaigns for The Centre Party of Estonia.
Creatum participated in the procurement with AS Idea and provided creative solutions. Tallinn City Council started discussions about purchasing Creatum’s ideas after the procurement.

Dolomia is mineral water originating from Italian Dolomites, which is especially useful for health, as it comprises minerals in the right, balanced quantity suitable to satisfy the needs of the body of the working person. Upon the analysis of Dolomia brand a simple fact appeared – compared to competitors in Estonian market, Dolomia has been bored from the deepest plot, due to which it may be assumed that it is the purest (the most useful) natural mineral water. The company is especially proud of becoming a strategic partner of Estonian Defense Forces and winning several clients of strategic weight. The strategy of the agency has proved right and Creatum continues deepening of its know-how in communications strategic planning.
A project new for Creatum is actually a continuation of communications related cooperation of Igor Baturin, one company founder and partner, with Estonia’s largest right wing party starting in 2001. In addition to strategic communication, Creatum also deals with direct marketing counseling. Kontuur Leo Burnett will continue as the main agency of the party.

Creatum starts to develop the image campaign redefining the core values of the Defense Forces for the general public. The final goal of 3 year cooperation is to raise the reputation of Defense Forces as an employer.
Creatum participated in the agency procurement of the IT-group and won the trust with its analytic approach and thoroughness. Work for positioning of the company and developing of a communications strategy following this will start.
